I can't keep the kick stand up on my 85 FLTC. I replaced the spring and that didn't help, I'm getting to the point where I'm going to give it Viagra to keep it up. Any ideas on how to repair it or do I need to replace it. Thanks

 

the frames tab must be bent back twards the rear and not enought tenshion on it to hold it against the primary

 

I had the same issue with my 94 and someone told me to try the spring from a softail. That seemed to do the trick for me. Mine is slammed down in the weeds and the spring is the lowest part on the frame so it catches first and tends to get stretched out every time it hangs up.

 

Do you have the rubber bumper properly installed along the frame? When I replaced the spring, I also replaced the bumper. No rattles now.

I replaced the spring with and the rubber stop is there it just will not stay up. I believe I'll just order all new and then I know it's all right. Tired of going around corners and it scraping.
