Default Truck Lite or JW Speaker

I upgraded the headlights on my 2014 Jeep since the stockers were pretty bad. I went with Truck Lites. I am very happy with them. So much so that now the lights on my 95 Heritage seem lousy and yellowish.

I am looking at two kits on discount fleet supply.

One kit is made by truck lite and the other is made by jw speaker.

They both replace the 7" headlight with an LED and the two 4.5" auxiliary lamps with LED's.

I see there is an optional ring for the jw speakers. I don't know what it is for or if I need it not ?

Will either of these simply plug in or will I have to do some splicing? If they won't plug in directly, is there an adapter that I can buy to avoid splicing?

I read some have reported an area of darkness right in front the bike with the truck lites. How bad is it? Do the aux lamps fill in this area? Some have compensated by aiming the headlight downwards more. Is this problem present in the jw speakers?

Keep in mind I am talking about the latest version of both of these lights. I know the previous generation was carp and expensive.

The truck lite kit is about $350 and the jw speaker kit is about $800.

Advantages and disadvantages of each? Installation issues with either?

My lights have the eye brow above each of them. Will this cause a problem?

Trucklite and not a second thought. It just works and the light is focused and bright. High beams are like Fenway park.

I'm happy with the Truck Lite. Got the main and the two spots. Someone on the site here is a coupon code for 10% off. It still worked as of a few months ago.

What about trim ring and pigtail requirements?

The trim rings fit. Seems like I put some black tape on the spots or otherwise fitted them a bit. The main beam plugged right in, if I recall. I had to splice in for the spot lights. Big deal. The site doesn't mention my year bike as a fit, so some little changes are expected.

Went with the HD LED light for Dr.Linda's Sporty because that's all I could find at the time in that size. That thing puts out some serious light. Looked MUCH brighter than a high dollar HD halogen something or other upgrade on my friend's twinky.

I just found some information in the touring section stating that in the daytime, the truck lites look like they are turned off when viewed at an angle. Pictures demonstrated this. I found that odd because I have the truck lites on my Jeep and never noticed that.

I think my question regarding the trim ring was misunderstood. When I go to order the jw speakers, it asks if I want the optional trim ring for $52. It isn't a a chrome piece.

Herd is the ring I am referring to shown separately. It says required on some models but does not say what those models are.

I bet they are really dark when viewed from behind.

I dunno about the trim ring. I didn't need that when I put the Truck Lite on my bike.

This is the jw speaker set I was looking at, which is the chrome version. They also offer a black version.

And this is the truck lite set:

Obviously, there is a huge difference in price.

The JW Speaker style looks like the one I bought from HD for the sporty, style wise. Probably why it was four bills for one bulb versus four bills for 3 for my bike. Which is better? Dunno. I'm happy with my Truck Lite. Got money burning a hole in your pocket? Go for it.
