Thanks for the info. I'll be taking it apart tonight and update in the morning.

Try this before you take the trans cover off, might save you some unnecessary work.

Remove the plate and adjustment bolt assy from the clutch, take something like a small wooden dowel, push on the pushrod and pull the clutch lever, if it moves in and out, I think a min of .080" with the lever, the ball ramp assy is OK, and look at the spring/pressure plate area.

Did you disassemble the ramp? Sometimes when you put it back a ball may fall out and you may not notice

I didn't disassemble the ramp or even take that side of the trans. I'm going to run to the stealership and pick up a new side cover gasket on my home and take it apart. This job has taught me to order gaskets and such on line. I can't believe the money I could have saved by ordering them on-line.

Could be something simple stupid: once I had a relatively new aftermarket cable just broke at the ramp...

That's kind of what I'm thinking. Has to be something simple. I have eliminated so many things that could be an issue. I think the issue is in the ball and ramp, it's been a while since I took that side of the trans off, hoping the cable just popped out of the ramp

Thanks for posting this shortcut to having to disassemble. Great suggestion.

Looks like I'm going to have to wait 'til the weekend to get into it. Work and family keeping me too busy. Good thing I have a spare!
