thunder monster placement in Big Shot Staggered (BSS)
I bought a set of thundermonsters for my Vance and Hines v&h Big Shot Staggered pipes. The inside diameter of the pipes is 2", so I ordered part number 2001. They fit well and i mounted them 4 inch deep. The performance and sound were not what I expected. So I emailed them and here is what they said about mounting the big city thunder-thunder monster baffles on big shots.
For the Big Shot Staggered pipe you can mount
the Thunder Monster baffle up to within 2" of
the "Power Chamber" or crossover section of the
pipe. Meaning you would want the end of the
Thunder Monster baffle approx 2" toward the rear
of the pipe from the chamber. That is the only
restriction on that pipe and yes it will be deeper
in tone and better performance than if you mount
them at the exit end of the pipe. The ThunderBolt
or ring should face the exit of the pipe for the best
sound.

What I did was take the pipes off the bike and measured two inches from the power chamber cross over and I drilled my quarter inch hole in each pipe. Then I took a long thin piece of wood and electrical taped it to the base of the lollypop to position it that deep. I used a flashlight to shine in the drilled hole and moved the baffle until the light shined through the hole in the baffle. I threaded the bolt and was on my way. I bought these baffles used and did not come with instructions for the big shots. Now they sound DEEP. BADAZZ.

RE: thunder monster placement in Big Shot Staggered (BSS)
I have Vance & Hines Big Shots Long and I also justinstall the thunder monster baffles in my pipes. I was told to install mine 6 inches from the exit end of my pipes. I did and the sound was just what I was looking for not too loud but a real deep tone. I still can not believe the low end power it gave me over stock baffles and I had decel popping.Well most all popping is also gone. They may not work this well for every set up but they did for mine.
