Question Changing baffles on Short Shots

Don't like the sound of the V&H "quiet baffles", getting a pair of Thunder Monsters from Big City Thunder. Should have them in a couple days. Question is do the heat shields have to come completely off or can it be managed with just loosening them? Had a time getting them on, if I can loosen I'd be happier (don't really think so though..)

Thanks!

If I remember correctly, the screw/bolt that holds the baffle in is like 1/2 or 3/4 inch long. Possibly shorter.

I think it would be a lot of work and scraped up knuckles taking it out and putting it back with the shields still in place.

Take them off. Drill a hole in them where the screw goes in, big enough to use a screw driver. Won't ever have to take the heat sheilds off again.
