When I replaced the stock air cleaners I mounted the IAT sensors in what is effectively the stock position.

Since the 636v eliminates the back plate what would you recommend doing with the IAT sensor?
What year and model bike do you have?

I just looked at the diagrams for the 2014 96 & 103 for the Deluxe and the Slim, and the IAT sensor goes into the throttle body, just like all the others.

Maybe your thinking of the un-used (in the USA) sensor that goes on the stock backplate...that is not the IAT sensor, & if you are in the USA, then it is un-used, just zip tie it up out of the way under the tank.

You are correct. I saw that thing hanging off the back plate and made an assumption instead of checking the service manual. I try not to get too deep into assumptions but this time I fell for it. Do you know what that sensor is for?

I ordered a couple of 587 air cleaners from your company last night.

Thanks for your help.

Thanks for your help.

I knew at one time..it is some sort of emissions sensor for international models that is not used on the domestic models.

Appreciate your business, look forward to seeing pics of your Rides with the 587 installed!
