Last Fall when riding in the Black Hills, My 2004 Fatboy with Screaming Eagle Exhaust. seemed to all of a sudden got louder. Not sure of the exact instance when it occurred. No change in performance but a little concerned that it may damage the engine in the long run. Any thoughts on what you would do.

 

The packing in/around the baffles probably finally burned out. Nothing to worry about.

 

Yes, most likely your muffler burned out, but it wouldn't hurt to check for any leaks.
