Default Supertrapp black discoloration

i have a black supermeg on my '16 FXDLS that has some discoloration. It's pretty apparent in my sig photo, but the black "ceramic" coating is turning brown at the pipe end and at the aft end. Wondering if this is normal for black coatings, cause I sure don't like the look of it. Never ran it without a tune richening it up a bit from stock.

Any thoughts? Thanks.

I don't believe there is any black finish for exhausts that will stay looking as new for long. The industry has played with different finishes since the '70s IIRC, many of them very expensive to apply, with mixed results. I also have a Supermeg, but played safe with chrome!

I get that, but this turned less then a week old. Seems unusual.

Brown is the correct color.

When they start turning blue, then your engine is too hot.

I've never seen a black powder coated exhaust turn blue, neat trick.

Me neither... Supertrapp support responded asking for a photo which I just sent.

I love companies with good customer service.

Spoke to a tech/cust service rep at Supertrapp, and he's sending me a new shell for the muffler. Unbolt it, two screws and slip out the core, slip it back into the new shell and bolt it back up.

I think I'll wait until I have my proper dyno tune before I do it, just to be sure its not caused by my map.

Gotta love Supertrapp.

Customer service is one of the reasons I've been running a Supermeg, their quality is right up there also. I've had the same Supermeg on my Ultra since 2007. You have the right idea waiting till it's tuned before changing.

I've been looking to pick-up a SuperMeg system for some time. I'm waiting till SuperTrapp gets smart enough and include both 18mm and 12mm oxygen sensor bungs to accommodate stock O2 sensors as well as wideband O2 sensors for closed loop tuning.
