Default cost effective mufflers for 12 SG to still hear stereo

Hey exhaust guys...I have a '12 Street Glide and I am looking to do some slip-ons that will sound good, but still allow me to hear the stereo on the highway. Later I will continue to add breather, controller, maybe head pipe, so would like to do in phases.

I do like the sound of the CFR's. If I had the $$$ I'd pop for the Jackpot Hi Rollers, but too expensive for me right now, I think.

I'm open to suggestions?

Thanks.

I have a set of Vance and Hines Monster Rounds. Not too loud, sound is pretty deep, could still hear the stereo and didn't break the bank. Had them on stock head pipe and when I put on an aftermarket head pipe, stage 1 intake and Power vision tuner they got a little louder, still heard the stereo. Then I got an amp for the stereo and could really hear it!

Just picked up a set of CVO take offs and bought the 2" fullsac baffles. I'll know tomorrow. But the 10 guys on other forums swear by them.

Supertrapp mufflers with the discs for tuning would work well for you. I don't know what 'cost effective' is for you but they are good mufflers and are cheaper than CFRs. As nentioned above, you can probably score some used CVO mufflers on the cheap and modify the baffles for a bit more sound and power.

My budget Stage 1 CVO take offs-$200, local wrench CAT kill - $100, K&N air filter-$70 and V&H Fuel Pack -$307. As others have said baffles available for CVO if you want more sound.

Try Jones Big Boar with the 2" Baffle. Great deep deep low rumble. Plenty of sound, but doesn't kill the radio. All for under $200.
