2015 Fatboy 2-1 Exhaust system - V&H ProPipe vs Samson Thunder Pro vs Cobra Power Pro vs D&D Fat Cat/Boarzilla
I would imagine this question has been asked, but my search of the forums did not produce all the answers I was looking at, hence this post.
I have a 2015 Fatboy FLSTF in Bangalore, India and was considering putting a 2 in to 1 exhaust system and seeking advice. I already have a V&H VO2 air filter and FP3 chip fitted, and its a stock 103 motor. I do have saddle bags and my wife does ride with me quite often.
The factors to consider
1. Bangalore is quite hot. It is in the 90s all through the year.
2. Traffic in town is VERY slow. Lots of stop and go. Lots of clutching.
3. Highways we typically do between 60 mph and 75 mph
4. Bangalore is the half-mile-high city at 3,000ft altitude.
5. Cops here are flaky and of and on go on these 'anti-sound' crackdowns. No meters, just their ears. So an exhaust which is relatively quite at low throttle and roars at full is preferred.
6. Only 87 octane fuel.
May I seek advice from the learned members on the forum, especially those in Texas, Florida, Louisiana, New Mexico and Arizona etc., on a full system,
1. Is a 2-1 the best system to install given the 5 parameters above?
2. If yes, which would be the system you would recommend V&H? Cobra? Samson? D&D? or any other?
3. If not a 2-1, what would be your recommendation? Why?
If a Vance and Hines Pro-pipe will the quiet baffle be a good option?
Thanks in advance
Dave

I have the pro pipe with the standard baffle and I think it's not as loud as the D&D. Not sure of the other you have mentioned.
Where I live now we have neighbors and was worried that I'd **** them off with the noise from the pipe when I leave for work at 430 am.
Iv talked to a few and they said they dont hear me leaving. Coming home different story.

A D&D Fat Cat with the louvered (quietest) baffle will fit the bill nicely. The pipe is IMO the best quality of all you mentioned. It will make as much, if not more power than any of the others listed. Most of all, it will have that mellow note at idle and cruise you are looking for, and it will bark when you jump on the throttle and are hot rodding around. I live in Texas (hot) and D&D is just down the road from me, I believe in their pipes. Of the four Softails in my family three are running Fat Cats (the fourth is running 39" Cholos for style over function). My '05 Deluxe has a 117" build in it making 123/126 running a regular ol' Fat Cat with the perforated baffle. These pipes work and are of great quality to boot!

Awesome! Snag a Fat Cat while here and take it back with you! Come by the shop and I will give you an ABG tshirt to wear abroad! You can rep Texas whilst in India!
