fishtail straights and torque
I have a 2015 heritage that I am going to be putting some Samson fishtail on. I am thinking the 33"s. my question is that if I get the straights with no baffles will it effect my torque on this 103 fuel injected motor? I have always been a carbureted guy running pans and knuckles , this is my first modern fuel injected bike. I have heard that the straight pipes really hurt the torque on these motors. right now I have python slip ons with baffles in them. still a little quitter than I am used to. I really have never used the torque cones . I don't even know if they work. I have run old fashioned lollipops . just wanted some input on this. right after the pipes I am getting a s&s breather and a v&h fuel pac.

Separate pipes can hurt torque, which is why all Harleys (and indeed all brands of multi-cylinder bikes) for a long time have some sort of balance pipe or siamese system, which improves low/mid range torque. If you retain your stock headers and fit fishtails you shouldn't suffer too much IMHO. If you don't have a tuner I would certainly consider getting one and having your bike set up on a dyno. Talk to your dyno shop about what they recommend.

True dual or 2 into 1, no baffles will hurt torque on a street bike size engine.
I ran a 2 into 1 with a straight fishtail on my old Shovel. I added a short (4", maybe? something like these) baffle and it kept the volume good, but added enough back pressure to make the bike run like a raped ape.
