Default se airfilter with stock mufflers?

Hi all, I recently bought my first Harley, its a 2005 Sportster 883 fitted with screaming eagle 2 mufflers and air cleaner' I am finding it a bit loud for long distance journeys, I am wondering is it possible to retro fit my bike with stock mufflers without affecting current power levels? Thanks in advance for any advice

You will lose what you gained with the muffler change, it may or may not be noticeable by your butt dyno....

I can live with a little power loss as I mainly use minor roads. I was looking and there seems to be some mods that can be performed on the stock muffler to make them more free flowing. Anyone have any experience of trying this mod?

Hi from across the Irish Sea! Modifying stock mufflers is not an exact science and I suspect there are as many ways of butchering them as there are people who have done it! Refit yours and ride, see if they are OK as they are. I've had my 2011 Sporty from new and don't have any wish to make it noisier that it was when new. Alternatively you can use ear plugs - we all should do so anyway!
