S&S 124 replacement engine
I e-mailed S&S Cycles regarding why I could not fit their S&S T124 Long Block Black Edition Engine with 640 Camshafts onto a new HD Breakout model.
Message (their response was):
Because it is a softail which uses a B style crankcase. Due to patent issues we cannot make the B style crankcase, however we can build you a complete B style engine using SE crankcases. Call our sales line for more details and pricing.
What is the difference between a B style crankcase vs an SE crankcase? Thanks.

cdonis: Got your PM. Thanks much. I e-mailed S&S Cycle. This was their response to my question about replacing the stock 103 with their 124T engine. Why can't I fit your S&S T124 Long Block Black Edition Engine with 640 Camshafts onto a new HD Breakout model?

Call our sales line for more details and pricing. Then I asked what the difference was between an SE crankcase vs a B style one. Was told the former is a Screamin Eagle one which comes from HD's high performance segment. So I conclude if they made me one it would be in essence a HD engine not an S&S engine?? It's all confusing to me that's why I'm asking all these questions here. I have read on this forum that most agree the S&S engines are the best if one wants a high performance engine.
And J&P Cycles e-mailed me their response.

J&P Part: 724-961 S&S Cycle 124″ Wrinkle Black Hot Set-Up Kit will work on your FXSB
I already own a 2016 BMW K1600GT. Have slip ons on it. Never ride with those fugly bags on it either. It's a great riding/handling bike. I now want to customize a Breakout and replace the stock engine with a higher performance one. Their CVO Breakout has the 110 in it but I want some more HP. I sure like the specs on the S&S T124 long block black edition engine.
