I can only speak to the Rush slip ons. I have the 1.75 and they are plenty loud. I can make them growl when I cruise or bark pretty good when I crack the throttle. I have not noticed that much difference in loudness between the sizes in the Rush pipes, but have heard several people say that the 2.5 have a tendency to pop on decel (so says the guy I talked to at Zippers about the TMax). I really like my Rush slip ons and would recommend them.

RE: rush vs cycle shacks vs vance hines slip ons
I've done alot of research here on the Rush slip ons. Haven't read a negative yet. My biggest decision has been which size to get for my 08 Heritage. I've listened to the sound clips on epiflex.com and gotten opinions from others here. So I'm going with the 1.75s.. I was going to go with the 1.50 but I read at least two posts that said they had a tinny sound to them, which I certainly don't want.
I was looking for something just a tad louder than stock and I'm somewhat concerned that these 1.75s will be too loud, especially after breakin. But if they are I'm only out $232. You can also replace the baffles inside if you want louder or quieter pipes.
I ordered mine thru cyclespot. I anxious to get them on and see what they sound like compared to stock.

You don't say what other mods, if any, you're doing, but if you're doing stage1 with a HD download, maybe this will help you decide.
When I did stage 1, the dealer first installed Rush w/2.25 baffles. Great sound and tone, but decel pop due to lean condition aggravated the he!! out of me. I had pop between every upshift, much less downshifting.
Dealer switched baffles to 1.75's and almost eliminated the pop. Sound is still good, but they do have more of a "tinny" sound - I'd probably call it more of a metallic click that seems on the same frequency as piston firing, only heard during acceleration. Different from the what I was used to, but not necessarily objectionable. If it bothers me too much I can turn up the radio...the radio is no match for the decel pop....
Good luck - hope this helps

I have the Rush with 2" on my '08 Softail. Haven't done the Stage one air yet and have no popping. They sound good I quess but not the sound I want. They remind me of a Honda without a muffler [:@]
My wife has the Evo motor with the Samson Ripsaw pipes and that sound is old school and can't be beat.

Not to confuse anymore than you already are... but you need to check Bassani out. I went with the flipped scallop cut and love em. Not to loud until you want them to be. I'm not to sure of the baffle size but I removed the packing from the baffle and stuffed em back in. Sounds evil and you get a different look too. Heres a shot of mine. Hope I helped you a little and were able to consider on more than the common three. Good luck man...
