RE: fuel system cleaner
Don't know if additives do any harm or good. Do a search here on Top Tier gasolines for further info. Some Top Tier stuff here:

RE: fuel system cleaner
Fuel additive and fuel system cleaners are two differant things. Additives try to increase performance in one way or another. If they are effective, then they only work while you're burning fuel with that additive.
System cleaners have a differant goal. During use, fuel leaves junk behind: varnish mostly, but other stuff as well. A cleaner attempts to dissolve that junk, and push it through the system to be burned in the comubstion chamber.
About twice a year I add a little cleaner to all my vehicles. I use either Techron, or B-12 Chemtool. I used TEchron for carbed vehicles in my '97 WG. It was still running good in 2005 at 45K miles without a carb cleaning or rebuild. I guess it worked. I've used it in my V-8 EFI truck once or twice a year, too. At 97K miles and 7 years, it's still running good and idling smoothly. I guess it worked there, too.
