Default is it worth it???

I have a '03 carburetor Dyna stock 88 with HQ-0034 cams. I have some extra parts laying around. So would it be worth the effort to install low mileage '06+ heads and 0.030 head gaskets? Everything is on my shelf to do it.

You'll need the late-style flanges for the manifold ...

If it is just sitting on the shelf ready to go, I'd say do it ...

A while back, I posted some info I found online that compares the CFM flow rate of the early TC heads with the late heads ... here's the link ...

https://www.hdforums.com/forum/engin...88-owners.html

Not sure how much 'seat of the pants' difference you'll feel ... I think you'll improve performance ...

... the flow chart on the heads you are dealing with ...

I even have the flanges. I'm thinking the extra compression with the thinner gaskets will wake up the cams.

I don't know if you can read the url on the top of the graph I posted above ... but, the entire 23-page study can be found at ...

http://www.neverworld.net/socalnetsc...BStudyRel1.pdf

... pretty good reading, since you want to make a decision on the subject ...
