Default Tuning Edelbrock QwiksilverII carbs

Does anyone have any input or experience tuning these carbs? I just got a dual set up for my bike. Thanks

Good Luck....I had a customer that had a set of those, I found them VERY difficult to dial in....when you get the low end working the top would mess up and when you got the top end right the low end would be too rich. After the engine was dynoed I seen the power wasn't what it should have been so I installed a SE 44mm C/V carb and gained 22 hp and 17 tq. The Quicksilver carb and manifold was sent back and we where refunded the $850.00 they cost at the time. This was about 8 years ago, I don't know if the carb hasa better way of jetting or if it is still turning the needle to direct the flat spot toward the manifold side or air cleaner side. Any way good luck.

I think that was with the original Qwiksilver, but supposedly the QwiksilverII is much better. I'm just about to put them on, but I don't have a manual or anything for them...

http://www.cas4.com/Carburetors-Inta...wiksilver.htmlif this is what you have then like I said 'GoodLuck' They look good but they do not perform well and you will see also that your forearm will get pumped up from the carb return spring. Sorry to tell you this but if your not just into show....send them back....if your into the looks of theset ....nothing looks better, it has nice lines and a real mean readyness atitude to them.

All show....no go. Real PITA. They do lookgood though. The newer ones are better than the older ones but like Doc said if you want more power send them back.

They're really that bad?? Well, it's all I got right now, so I'm going to have to make them work. They should be on the bike next weekend.

We have also witnessed the same as Doc and Larry.
One tough hombre to work with.
Seems you can never get 'em just right.

I would second that, had a 107 inch evo here with two of them on the bike. [:@]You get one area tuned and the other is way off, you end up with a bike that will run really good in a small rpm range or just poor over all. And if you think one carb is hard to pull try two!!!! In the end I just told the customer what he had and that looks where the reason for the twin cabs on a huge manifold. Plus he had NOS that he wanted tuned in as well!!! He end up burning a set of pistons, Info given to him by quicksilver.

I am not sure if the QS carb is harder to tune or the holley two barrel toss up there. Way better ways to gain power than either of them. Good Luck with the carb.
