Default Lifters

Has anyone used the Sifton Max Axle lifters? Are they any good? I don't know the brand and am not sure of the quality of their products.

Default Sifton

Sifton sold out to Ted and is now made out of country I believe. I don't care for them.

Sifton was a historical type of company like Andrews. They went back a long way. Then got lost somehow. When I was young Sifton and Andrews where the go to people for Harleys

I would stick with a quality lifter by JIMS for a twin cam engine.

The name kept tickling the back of my mind. That was when everyone had to have dual point ignition and what was called a "3/4 race cam" in their late 60's early 70's V-8's. In your bike backyard mechanics would throw an Andrews cam that sounded good and the highest dome pistons that would fit, biggest bore the cylinders would go etc, etc .... and probably didn't get much more, if any, performance than todays off the floor bikes.

I have an 80" Evo that I just stuffed in a W-6 cam, mild head porting and chamber matching to 79 cc. and shaving .015, using .030 gaskets. Cylinders .030 over and 9cc dome pistons bringing comp to 10.2:1. Lifters still look like new, so I might just polish the tires and run with them. .... also HSR 42, Dyna 2000i single fire and Python III pipes. Hopefully I can squeeze 80 hp out of it. This is taking me forever working on it between 5 other projects. I'm in the boonies so have to order all parts. Now waiting on S&S breather valve cuz the stock doesn't come close to specs. Looks pretty lame anyhow.
