Default PC111 or Vance & hines Fuelpak

QUESTION...
Im ordering my VH Oval slip-ones with the SE stage 1 air clean in the am.
Should I go with the PC111 or the VH fuelpac?

They are going on my 05 Road King.

As stated before: Staying with stock engine and no further mods than the air cleaner and V&H pipes= FuelPak.

Anything more extensive engine-wise or have a craving for tweaking settings then go with PCIII or SERT.

Have/had the FP on current bike as well as my '05 RK Classic and they both run/ran great.

Primo
P.S. Nice looking King.

Since the Dynojet PCIII cancels out the 02 sensors does that mean you can use any exhaust that will fit an 05 dyna?

What Primo said....whole job took about 20 minutes.

Primo--

Do you get any decel popping? I first noticed it after putting the Ovals on (stock mufflers apparently too quiet to hear it). This was before I added the Stage-1 & Fuelpak. After the Stage-1 and FP addition, the decel popping is still there -- not backfiring, per se, but still present. Maybe some popping is normal...? I also still get that little "surge" during deceration as the RPM bleeds-off that has been discussed by several others.

Yes a little decel popping especially when it's early in the ride and the bikes cold. Very minor though.

V&H states that it has to do with '06 EPA tuning . My '05 didn't do it.

They said they are working on fine tuning the map values and to keep checking back on the website for updated settings.

Also make sure all connections are torqued down to proper numbers. Air can be sucked in if not buttoned down properly resulting in cold air adding to popping and even out and out backfiring.

And yes, total install and setting time is about 20 minutes. Very easy even for me and my 10 thumbs.

After speaking to V&H tech dept., they suggested increasing mode 2 +2 units. That has really made a big difference in my decel popping on an '05 RK with SE air cleaner and True Duals with Ovals. My decel happened between 2-3K which must be where mode 2 is mapped. I have also been pretty careful about retorqing the headers and exhaust clamps since they tend to loosen with miles - used new header gaskets which need time to compress.

Thanks Ted. I remembered reading your post on this setting adjustment before but could not find it. Going home now to make the change and see what happens.

Please post back when you try it, Primo. I won't be able to get to mine for a couple of days. (I wish I had a roadmap as to what all the Modes represent.)
