I pulled my carb today and was suprised to find a 190 main and a 48 slow jet. I purchased the bike used and it is stock: no aftermarket AC or exhaust. It did look like one of the screws on the float bowl was slightly rounded suggesting that it might have been rejetted by the dealer for some reason (previous owner had all labor done at dealer). The idle plug was still in, however. Does anybody know if this was the stock jetting? Also, how has the jetting on the CV carbs changed over the years? I read a lot of articles that say "increase your main jet by 10" but that doesn't make sense if certain years of carbs are set up richer than others. Can anybody shed some light on this?

most all twin cam carburetor bikes were 45 slo and 190 main.

call a good dealer with the year and model and they should be able to tell you what was stock when it was new.

 

It's a 2001. I've heard of rides having a 45 slow jet but not 48. My top speed was about 100-105 and that seemed a bit low. Wondering if it was running slower due to the richness of the mixture? I'm gonna replace with a Mikuni but I am still a little stumped.
