Default Help with my CV carb

I have a 2006 Softail Standard with a CV carb. I just put a D&M spike air cleaner on my bike and it sputters in full throttle. So I went to change the main jet and my slow jet. When I took the bottom bowl off my carb there was a 180 main jet but no slow jet. The only thing that is there is a brass hole. could any one help me as in what to do?

Is there supposed to be a slow jet there?
I bought a 48 slow jet and there is no place to put it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Go to this link. The slow speed jet is up inside a tube and you need to get at it with a skinny flat screwdriver. The diagram in the link shows where it is located. I can't believe it would be running very well if there was no jet in there. Let me know if this helps.

Default Picture of my main jet and slow jet

This is a picture of my main jet and what is supposed to be my slow jet. I removed the main but do not see any way to remove the slow jet. Any ideas of what to do?

We modified an S&K small flat blade almost 20 years ago for this.

Look way down the brass tube and you should see a slot for a screwdriver. Its in there a ways. Depending on your bike, 48 may be a little fat. Try it. If you end up 7/8ths to 1.5 turns out on the mixture screw, its good. If you ens up tighter than 7/8ths, go to a 46. The 46 with a Bobby Wood KT-1 needle runs real good. I ran that combo for a while with great results, then I got my carb worked by Dakota Kid and haven't looked back.

that tube next to the main jet with the brass plug is not the slow jet hole. it is the tube that runs along side the main jet tube. The slow jet is up about an inch or so.
