Question Suggestions for Best Performance Please!

When I bought my Heritage last year, the previous owner had done ALOT to the engine. But I bought it from a dealer who had no idea exactly what was done. Here's what I was able to find out...

SE Air Kit
SE 44mm CV Carb
SE Intake Manifold
SE Heads
1550 Big Bore Kit
SE-203 Cams
Python3 Slip-on Exhaust
SE Ignition
SE Coils
SE Wires
NGK Iridium IX Spark Plugs

I don't know exactly what SE Heads were used, which Pistons were used, or what the Compression Ratio is. Any suggestions on how to find this out?

Also, I've attached the sheet from my last Dyno run (89 HP + 95 TQ). Any suggestions on increasing the HP+TQ? I'd like to hit the 100 mark if possible. I know the slip-on exhaust is hurting me. And I'm a little rich at WOT (too big main jet? I'm not sure what the current size is.) Are the SE203 cams a good choice for my setup?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Is your Python3 Slip-on Exhaust a 2 into 1 type of exhaust?

If not, I tell you from personal experience that the best thing I ever did for performance was to toss those drag pipes and install a 2-1...My choice was Vance and Hines Pro-Street but there are others of equal gains and the Thunderheader gives the best gains and consequently is the highest priced!

Do you do your own work?

Yes, the Python3's are a slip-on, 2-into-2 exhaust using the stock header pipes. It eliminated the stock cross-over pipe that was between the stock mufflers.

I do all my own work with the help of my cousin who's been wrenchin' on Harleys for a looong time.

I'll look into the Thunderheader exhaust. I want to keep a "retro" look to the bike. So I was thinking about using the stock headers off a Heritage Springer or Springer Classic, then slipping on the V&H Fishtail mufflers...

Would that help or hurt the performance, compared to my current setup?

I've seen a lot of riders out there with the stock bagger exhaust with the aftermarket mufflers and there is quite a performance gain...I don't know the exact numbers but they were certainly better than stock! I've never experienced the set-up you are wanting to try...

Very nice! Any more specs on your setup? Which 98" kit did you use?

Your bike is the 5th bagger I've seen with a 2-1! Most guys want to stick with the exhaust on both sides....Your numbers are the "proof in the pudding"! Good job!

Hillside Cycle 98" kit

They reworked the heads
They bored the cylinders and used Wiseco Pistons
woods tw6 gear drive cams
stock throttle body
Fatcat w/standard baffle

Probably left some peak #'s on the table by using bolt in cams and stock throttle body. But the big #'s is are not what I was after. Already looks better than some 103's and even 107's I have seen from other shops/vendors.

Those fishtail duals wont help your power, only hurt it a bit.

If looking to change up your build, listen to ryanl, his build is killer and a simple bolt together kit.

iIf you dont want to spend much, a cam swap and head cleanup along with a good tune wont set you back much.

Thanks, BAGGERDSM.

And I'm not talking true-duals, but using the stock Heritage Springer dual header pipes with the cross over, then the V&H fishtail slip-ons.

I'm also thinking about these retro 2-into-1 headpipes...

...along with one of these mufflers...

I'm just worried the 1 3/4" dia might be too small???

What could you do to the Screamin' Eagle heads I already have? I'm pretty sure they're the Pro Twin Cam MCR Performance Cylinder Heads (part # 16952-08). Harley's descriptions says it allows a 6500 RPM redline (which is what my bike redlines at now).

Also, what would be a recommended cam for my setup? If I do indeed have the above heads, I can have up to a .575" lift.

I wish I knew what pistons I have. I've attached a screenshot of Harley's SE catalog. I have one of the two pistons I circled in red. Anyway of telling which one I really have?

Thanks!
