well im looking at buying this bike . it has a pan bottm and shovel top . bad news is that it bolws oil out of the rear cylinder exhaust pipe . bike has been sitting for about 6 years and needs to be re-built . any ideas on what it is going to cost for the motor to get re-built ? what do you guys think the bike is worth ? i will try to get some pics .

 

First question is what year Pan bottom? This 'should' be easy to figure out if the serial number hasn't been altered. That far back, the engine serial number was the year of the bike. What year does the title say the bike is?

 

it's a 54 pan head . he said he doesn't have the a title for it just registration papers .

 

Could be a bad guide/rings.
Shovel heads on a pan really woke those up, as the "T" intake manifold, and the 'mouse maze" ports, never offered much for power with those.
