Default 88ci Heads on 96ci. Will They Work.

I have a 2007 Softail Standard.

Will Screamin Eagle 103ci heads from a 2005 CVO work on a 2007 103ci.

I'm building my 96ci this winter as a 103 and was going to work the stock heads but I've found a set Screamin Eagle 103 heads from an 88ci engine. I like the way these heads look with the "Screamin Eagle 103" written on the sides.

If your after performance, get the stock heads worked and run flat top pistons. You didn't post a PN but if the heads are 17971-03B, the chamber volume is 98cc compared to 85cc for the stockers. You may know this already but you will need domed pistons to get compression up and getting a good squish band with these heads/pistons is challenging. These builds are also tweaky to tune from what I read and hear; never built one but understand they are very cam, timing and exhaust sensitive.

Big valves; intake valve has been increased to 2.080" diameter and exhaust valve is 1.623". Valve springs can accommodate cams with .650" lift and revs
up to 7000 RPM. This is more of a high flow, high reving (for a Harley) drag race setup; not much on the bottom but that must be what you want.

yes, but...the intake flanges changed in 2006. I "think" (meaing I'm not sure) you can just change the intake flanges to the old style.

if they are the 103+ heads send them out to get re-done they are great heads to have ported. a lot of porters prefer working with the 103+ heads

They are the stock heads from a mid nineties CVO SE 103ci. If they will work, I'll have them ported.

I just need to be sure they'll bolt up to my 96ci (that will be bored out to 103) cylinders and intake.

yes bolt pattern is the same you will need the older styler intake manifold flanges.
i have seen Baisley get some great results from those heads. when i was looking into doing a seet he had recomended those heads to port and flow as the intake is raised so they will out perform most ported heads of the same caliber.

When you say intake manifold "flanges" do you mean the intake manifold itself will need to be from an 88ci engine?

No, no need to change the manifold; just the flanges. '06 and later heads require '06 or later intake manifold flanges; '05 and earlier heads require '05 or earlier intake manifold flanges.
