Default Rocker arm end play

Just measured my end play on my rockers.3 came in at .013 and one at .012 . .013 is max according to my SM. If I go with .010 shims this will put me at minimum clearance after cleaning the end off of the one that is .012.
Now for the questions. Is the .010 shim safe enough to install and not have it break up, like thinner ones?
I would also like to install them on the none thrust end of the rocker, but the only reference I have is the pushrod angle to the rocker. Does this determine thrust side or is it something else I missed? A quick visual of pushrod angle shows the thrust side on the exhaust to be at the pushrod and at the valve for the intake.
Assuming this plan is sound, what's the part # and who carries them? This is for an 07 96". Thanks.
Ron

yes that is correct. ex needs to shimed to the pr side and intake to the valve side.

My SM is in the garage and I am too lazy to go get it but I on my 04 i seem to recall the max is more than .013.

ok I went and looked. from the factory they are supposed to be between .003 and .013. the service limit is .025. I personally would not mess with them. You have a long way to go before they need to be replaced.

You are correct. New fit is .003-.013. I didn't look at the wear limit, since .013 seemed quite sloppy moving them back and forth. I'd hate to hear these puppies at .025

I'm getting ready to do cams on my 2011 Street Glide, that presently has a slight ticking sound.

Could someone please explain exactly how to properly shim the rocker arms?

Thanks

To do this properly, you need to have the ends of the rockers maching prefectly perpendicular to the rocker shaft and take enough off to use a minimum .020 shim. anything less than that I have found to eventually break and then you have parts floaoting around. If you have less than .013 end play, I would not expend the energy IMO.
