Default True duals vs Slip ons ith crossover

I'm told "True duals" are a better set up than the slip on's with the crossover.

1) is this true?

2) By how much performance wise do you think there is to be gained with true duals?

Thanks

You will get many opinions about this but this is what I can tell you from my personal experience. I am not talking about dyno numbers here. I had a stock crossover with rush mufflers on the bike for a while before switching to V&H dresser duals and honestly could not feel any loss of power with the duals that is commonly reported. But even if it did lose some the looks and sound more than make up for the couple points you might see on a dyno report. JMO

I have heard that true duals give poorer performance than other systems, but I have them on my S&S 107 which I have had fine tuned on a dyno. My bike gives better power and torque than S&S claim for it and I am delighted with it. Even non-Harley owners like the sound of it and if you like the idea of them go ahead!

I have the V&H dresser duals with MO exhaust, and I'm happy with the looks and performance. The TD's will be louder though, but will also take away some of the heat under your thigh. Pick what you like and smile when you ride it and forget about the numbers that you'll never notice on your ride.
