RE: '82 Shovelhead FXR
Trip, for the love of GOD I beg you please do not break a little girls heart and steal her dream right out from under her!!!!!!
I came here looking for some support and woe is me I may be outbid on the bike of MY dreams. (Notice it is not necessarily the bike of my man's dreams, lol).
After getting home and posting my latest novella Chuck (my guy) called our buddy, the mechanic and he told him that if I wanted it that bad he should probably go for it. (probably just to shut me up, but whatever works) He said we wouldn't get much more for that price that isn't a sportster. My Napoleon complex forbids me to even consider a Sportster.
From now on, however, I will probably have a gazillion questions. The more answers the better!!!!!
Being the dork that I am, I will now hit Amazon.com and buy as many books about the shovelhead motor so I can pretend I have some idea whats going on

I would get over to the guy and put a deposit down if you still can, JohnTN was just joking. [sm=joke.gif] means "Joke" The I have no intention on bidding on that, or anyother bike. Actually I was searching ebay to find out what a compairable bike was going to help you in your quandry. If I would have found a close match, I would have posted it for you, but I thought that the urgancy of the situation warranted stronger action. So I posted FYI. Go grrl get on the stick, you have made your descision.

FallenAngel,
Now that you know I was j/k just kidding, now I'm not, lets get something going before you wait too long and whoop your husband, or something along that line, because you did'nt get this bike. Deposit time, heck just flash the money and say it's my bike now, hand the keys over buster.

Heh, I knew you guys were just kidding, I was just playing around as well. I tend to have a dry sense of humor. I did indeed call the shop and tell them I wanted to put a deposit down IMMEDIATELY. Well, I told their machine, they were closed by the time we got home.
I will know by 9:30 whether that baby is mine, I mean ours, or not.
Wish me luck!!
