Default 103 stage V rough idle

hey guys
I recently installed a 103 stage 4 kit on a 2010 ultra glide.
I have a very rough idle ,the RPM is unstable and if I try to go cruising on low RPM and specially on low gear ,the bike feels very funny.
I am about to to disassemble the throttle body and check it for leakage and reinstalling again .
any opinions will be greatly appreciated
thanks

Check for a vacuum leak at the throttlebody/head mating area.

In your signature you list the SEST with custom map. How did the tuner do this with the bike not running right?

that's what I was planning to do,
the map was done by running the smart tune ,I did it myself.
the bike runs better but only at high rpm
on neutral i get some black smoke when i hit the throttle
also what is the spark gap for a stage 4 103 engine ? any idea ?

Depending on what is causing the rough idle, black smoke when "blipping the throttle could be many different things. With a vacuum leak, the O2 sensors are going to sense a lean condition and tell the ECM to dump more fuel. Same with an exhaust leak. If you didn't get the VE tables tuned right, the ECM may be dumping tomuch fuel. The accel enrighment may be set too high, and the list goes on and on. You will first have to ensure you dont have any leaks, then start to address the tune.

I had idle issues when I first got my Stage IV completed (by the dealer.)

I took it back. Vacuum leak was the issue they said. It had thrown a code as well. Why they didn't find this before letting me have it is unknown.

I do not know exactly what was done to cure the vacuum leak.

Sorry can't be of more help. But safe to say our symptoms were the same and mine cure was to check for vacuum leaks.

Hi, I have exactly the same feeling with a 103 CI FLHTK wich recently became a stage IV.

I am not happy with the low rpm and a very few throttle. The bike smells ugly, too. I have the Screamin Eagle plugs extra for high compression engine. A decat header, too, with Kess Tech Electronic Sound Management mufflers.

I went to a Harley specialist, not the dealer who installed the kit and who seemed to be at his maximum with the tune he did.

The specialist tuned the bike a little bit (said it took hours).

The bike runs better, of cours, but MPG went down, and the rough idle is still there.

He says he can change the camshaft for about 1500 dollars, because the SE 259 that are in the kit are not good (HE says). I am not sure to agree with that and I am not ready to spend 1500 dollars more when the kit should run smooth, no ???

Do some of you meet the same problem since the last post ? Is it possible to correct it with the race injectors ?

Hope you understand my english, thank you for your help !!

The cams are fine. If no codes, Just need a qualified tuner to straighten it out.
