Default T MAN 625 Cams....

ive seen several poeple post that there 625 cams are quiet and im just wondering if anyone else has noisy ones like mine....

i have a 2010 Electra Glide Classic with the follwing mods...

Screamin Eagle Stage 4 Race Kit which includes-
103 kit - 10.5 compression
Stage 4 heads which have been ported - flow 260 /235 at .600
58 mm TB
5.3 injectors

T Man 625 Cams

Vance and Hines Pro Pipe
Screamin Eagle Heavy Breather
SERT

the bike makes pretty good power and the tq comes on real low which is what you want in a heavy bagger.... 117/115

my problem is that i can not deal with the loud valvetrain noise...so far this is what ive done to try to fix the issue...

shimmed all rockers to .003 end play
clearenced rocker boxes per T Mans website
switched to SE tapered pushrods to eliminate the rubbing up top
adjusted the pushrods many times trying different preloads
triple checked everything as far as rubbing and clearences go...

Im just looking for advice because ive already talked to T.R himself at T Man and ive done eveything that hes said to try to remedy the problem....

Let me know if you solve your problem, I have just installed a set in my 03 Ultra with HTCC re-ported and polished heads 10.5 HTCC pistons and 54mm T.B. and Bassani road rage as well. I had Woods 5G in it and it made no noise at all

I've installed several sets and all have been VERY quiet.

I've used HQ BlackOps lifters and Harley "B" lifters and both stock & roller rockers. I've also used them with TMan Stage 2 ProTouring heads (beehive springs) and Tman Stage 3 heads (dual coil springs), both having approx 180lb seat pressure.

Any idea what sorta seat pressure those SE valve springs have?

the dual coil SE springs have 195 on the seat and i asked T.R about that and he said that they are fine and he uses them....

Get a set of Woods Lifters.
Maybe the new lifters from Headquarters would also do.
I had done all you have done at least if not more for two years and nothing helped my Woods 7H valvetrain. 2008 Fatboy somewhat modified like yours.
Put on Woods new lifters out of nothing else to do and I had just heard of them.

Beautiful quiet valve train.

So I put in woods 400-6. Still quiet. A pleasure to ride now.

Iím having the same issue with my 107" build using the TR590 cams. Iíve done everything you have mentioned but still have a very loud and pronounced tick, tick... The valve train was noisy stock, and I knew it would be a little louder with the spring and cam change, but itís a lot more noisy...

Iím going to try the higher pressure oil bypass spring, to see if the increased oil pressure helps the lifters from not bleeding down... If that doesnít work, Iím going to order some new Harley "B" lifters, since Iím still running the stock lifters in my Dyna.

Donít know what else to try...

I've done all that

Nothiung helped my engine till the new lifters from woods.

Now with 0.650 lift and woods springs set for that things are quiet.

Biesley spring. 58 #s at startup and running around 40#. Idle 20 #'s.
This didn't help

Its not all that axell and orintation business. It's the inside close tolarances with the newly available lifters from Woods. and Headquarters more that likely

Did that one thing all by itself, no other change at that time. things finally got quiet.

ok so i decided to go a different route, i put the stock cam back in and the ticking is still really bad , so the problem is obviously not the cam ....
i pulled the heads off and changed the springs they were 195/490 now i have 150/380 which is still plenty of sring pressure ...
i just got it back together and the ticking is at least 50% better, now i need to put the t man 625 back in and check things out , hopefully it stays this quiet because now its at a tolerable level....
i think that the rest of the noise is from the different valvetrain geometry in the Screamin Eagle 110+ heads ??

Could it also be that with alot less valve-spring pressure the lifters are able to handle their job easier, and with less noise?
