Break In / Performance
I just purchased my first HD ( 2010 Street Glide ) and I installed the V&H 2 into 1 Power Duals, with dual Rinehart slip On's. I also baught the Screaming Eagle Super Tuner along with the Arlen Ness Big Susker kit. My local dealer said the could not complete the full Dyno until I have at least 1,000 miles on my bike. Does anyone know if this is accurate as I have heard 500 miles was adequate? I was also wondering if anyone else has used this combo or know of anyone with combo, and would be able to tell what type of HP/Torque gains I should expect see vs. stock once it's been fully tuned on the Dyno? Any feedback would be appreciated..

The rings are all settled in looooooooong before 1,000 miles.
No harm in dyno tuning a new engine, if you know what your doing.

There are builders that will break in an engine on the dyno and just do a couple of 3500-400rpm pulls through the gears to check AFR. A true dyno tune could take as many as 30-40 pulls, many of which are WOT. I wouldn't want any of my new builds put under that load unless I had rolled up about 1000 miles. Better safe than sorry; if it goes up in smoke, the tuner is not responsible.
