Default is 45-48mpg good

i am owner of a 1998 ultra classic with a 1340 evo. i bought the bike from a auto dealership this past june. the hd dealer in the area has no record of any service work for this bike. it now has 55k on it and it doesnt appear that the nose cone has been removed (rivets still holding the cover on) and it is leaking from the cylinder head and rocker boxes a little bit so i am assuming no engine work was ever performed on it. all this being said is it unusual for me to be getting on average 45-48mpg's? i must have at least 15-20lbs of gear in the bags (3 helmets, chaps, jacket, sweatshirt other misc...) and i am a slim 244lbs. according to one of my other threads by upgrading to a better ignition and installing a andrews ev-27 i have been told i should get better mpg. at the time they didnt know that i was already getting 45-48mpg. what's your experience in this area?

Bet with a "cam only" upgrade, you'll see a decrease, UNLESS you push the compression up, then you may see a tick more.
We have a client inFulton, N.Y., that has told us he see's 54 mpg on a regular basis, with his 80" FXR, Wood 6, at 10:1 cr.

I would say you'r doing pretty good.Air cleaner, exhaust, cam, and head work can all help as well as driving habits. The way I drive I would never see that type of MPG.
