Default what the best settings on a Daytona Twin Tec

Im installing a DTT on my 01 RG with 95 kit, flat tops, SE MCR heads, Andrews 54 cams, VH 2/1 Pro pipe, SE air filter, stock carb. I just finished the build and Im installing the DTT Monday. What would be the best settings with my build. It isnt broken in yet and has about 50 miles on it. Not concerned about the Rev limit settings as I will keep it low until I get a bunch more miles on it. Im also doing the Headquaters Jet kit at the same time. It comes with a 46 slow jet, 195 & 200 main jets and a red HQ needle. Any recommendations on which main jet to use at Denver altitude 5000 plus feet?

If you are going to effectively use the DTT, you really need the USB interface so you can see the ignition table/settings and change them accordingly. You should also have received instructions with the DTT giving you some guidance on where to start. Stock engines running on 87-89 octane gas use an initial timing setting of 2 and an advance slope setting of 5. Your engine is not stock and you probably burn higher octane fuel and your static CR is about 10.2, higher if you used a .030" head gasket. Altitude does not affected CR but does affect cranking compression which means you can probably get buy without compression releases even with the 10.2 CR. However, 10.2 puts your build just above what would commonly be described as a "mild" 95" build.

You could start with an intial advance setting of 2 and try an advance slope setting of 3 or 4. If you experience any detonation at low rpm, back off the initial advance settng and if you experience any detonation at higher rpms, back of the slope setting. You can do more damage during breakin with retarded timing and if the timing is retarded, you have no indicator. At least with advanced timing, if you get any ping, you can back off until the ping is eliminated and complete the break in and the miles you log before you start running above 4000 rpms.

You can always get the USB interface and can program a custom advance curve or load one on that someone else is using on a similar build.
