leaking fuel injector
#2
Had one once.
Just a regular person with no fancy instrutments can get an idea because:
The engine will not idle.
The engine will increase the idle with the throddle closed. Mine went to 3000RPM by itself at idle. Caused a lot of cold sweats.
There will be a check engine light. The code will be for a O2 sensor though. That figures cause the EMC doesn't have a code for a injector really. Out of control O2 gets the first light.
If you have a way to DATA record, you can see the EMC will drive the injector time down, but nothing helps.
Was a puzzler for me at first, cause one tinds to think the FI is so good but it has its momements.
For me not too bad cause it started in my driveway. Went down the O2 sensor route first though till I figured things out.
On the road you might get along not too bad because the ECM may be able to control the injector with the engine under load. Just not at idle.

Well there shouldn't be any gas till the injectors get their signal so I guess that is possible.
But there isn't much pressure till the pump comes on.
On the side stand the gas will go into a open intake valve or at least to the top of it.
Almost have to smell it. But already so much gas there anyway.
If it is leaking much at all, you will know when you start up, pretty quick.
