Default '00 FLHRCI gas gauge not working

It hasn't worked for awhile. The gauge part has condensation in it.
The needle is all the way to the left and the light is not working.
Anybody have these issues before and what did you do to fix?
Also my manual doesn't show how to get the gauge cap off.
Thanks

Sounds like you have an electrical failure relating to the guage. The damp inside it could be nothing to do with that. Many electrical problems are actually mechanical and the problem could be as simple as a broken wire or a connector come apart. If you don't have one, get the factory service manual for your bike, which will tell you how to get things apart so you can check.

The wire for the gauge runs through an internal tube to the bottom of the tank where it plugs into the wire harness. Check the pkug first. Good luck.
