Default Will this cam and exhaust combo work?

I'm thinking about putting a set of Rinehart true duals on a stock 103" 2011 FLHR because I love the sound of true duals.

I also really like the results of the new Woods TW-555 cams and want to use these as a bolt in cam (stock 103" with no head work....)

Will the TW555's be a bad choice with this exhaust and staying with stock compression?? Should I be looking at something different say the T-Man 555 Torqster cams? Or maybe the SE204s???

Thanks for any advice.

Any of the three will work out fine. Another to consider is the Andrews 48H but compression releases would be nice to have with that one. If the 2011 103 come wired for automatic CRs and all you have to do is install the CRs and hook up wires. that's the cam I like for a cam only upgrade in a 103.

If no CRs, the TMan 555 Torkster is a good choice. SnS has a new torque cam but I can't recall the number.

I run Rinehart TDs on my 107 and think I give up a git on the bottom but the mid and upper range is fine and I also love the sound. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply djl. Yes the Andrews 48 would be a nice TQ cam similar to the SE255. Are you suggesting this cam specifically to preserve the low end TQ? In other words to compensate for my choice of true dual pipes?

At the moment I'm leaning toward the T-Man 555 Torqster or the SE 204. Both seen great cams I have not seen any run with true dual exhaust (they have all been with 2-1-2 or 2-1 pipes).

The 103"ers are 9.6 cr.
Perfect ratio for an Andrews 26.

That wood cam needs more compression to work optimally.

255's are good if u do the true duals vs power duals or other 2-1 or 2-1-2 my 103 is very good with the set up I have settled on after a few attempts to get the bottom I wanted

The 48 is similar to the 255 but will not fall on it's face above 4000rpms. The 48 will bump up corrrected and cranking compression which should move the torque curve to the left a bit compared to, say the TMan 555 or SE204 but the difference would probably not register on the butt dyno.

Whether or not some low end is lost with TDs is a hotly debated subject but dyno sheets show some softness on the low end when a 2:1 system is replaced with a set of TDs. Rineharts are the only TDs I would run; the head pipes are stepped thrice as compared to others that are stepped twice. JMHO.

If choosing between the TMan and 204, as much as I like the 204, I think I would go with the TMan cams. Good luck!

Hi Scott, thanks for your input and advice. Obviously you think the TW555 and the T-man 555 torqster need more compression?

Just out of curiosity, if I didn't want the 26, what would be your next best choice for my factory 103" with True Dual pipes?

What do you think of the TW5-6 or the Cyclerama 575 for my application?

Thanks.
