Annybody know if a Screaming Eagle air cleaner kit from a year 2000 carburated 88 cu insoftail will fit the 2007 96 cu in softail EFI engines. Aside for a gasket, the parts look the same. I'm thinking ther may be some minor differences and the parts could be ordered separately. Has anyone done this?

 

I don't "think" it will, something is different on the backing plate I "think".

 

I'm thinking that too but I think you can order the backing plate and the rest will fit. It's got to be cheaper than trashing the whole kit and buying a new one. One of the dealer"s techs told me all the kits are basically the same with some minor differences. I'm taking the kit to the dealer's service department today after talking to them on the phone about it. They said they'd look at it but I don't trust them given they are in the parts business. I'll let you know what they say.

 

Maybe this will help. I had an 04 FLHT w/ carb and the se air cleaner put it on
my new 07 FLSTC and works great.

 

The side of the boxmy SEAC (29773-02C) came in saysthat it fits '01 to '06 Softail and '02 to '06 Touring and '04 to '06 Dyna models. When I asked why it didn't say '07 Touring, the stealer said that the box just hasn't been updated...
