Xied Review and Thoughts
Hey guys, thought I would give my impression of the FL-XiED-10's I just installed.
First some background
2012 Ultra Limited 103
Reinhart slipon mufflers
SE air cleaner
Stage 1 download
FL-XiED-10
I love the way the bike runs stock but after reading alot of the posts about new bikes running lean I wanted to do something to help with this. I ride 2 up most of the time but for this review and for the last 2 weekends it has been only me on the bike so I can give a fair assessment of before and after 1 up.
Before the FL-XiED-10 were installed:
Rode 100 miles combination city and highway.
Idle fine.
Take off from a stop 0 - 4000 rpm - no problems.
Cruising 1st tru 5th gears, in town, around 2500-3000 rpm and rollon the throttle was fine.
Cruising 6th gear, highway, 65-70 mph and 2500-3000 rpm and rollon
the throttle not so good untill rpms get to 3500-4500 rpm.
Minimal popping on decel.
After FL-XiED-10 were installed
Rode 165 miles with about 55 city and the rest highway.
idle fine.
Take off from a stop 0 - 4000 rpm - same as before install no problem and no real difference.
Cruising 1st tru 5th gears, in town, around 2500-3000 rpm and rollon the throttle - Seems a little more responsive. Not a hugh difference but a better one not a worse one.
Cruising 6th gear, highway, 65-70 mph and 2500-3000 rpm and rollon
the throttle - Here is where I felt the most difference. Rollon was much better and pull was much better. I even took it down to about 55mph and around 2000 rpm just to see what it was like. Now before the Xied's were installed I did this once and wouldn't do it again because there was just no power that low in sixth gear. After the install even at around 2000 rpm the pull and throttle responce was better but I still won't be riding in 6th that low.
Decel pop was gone all together.
I can't comment on any heat issues because temps were 35-45 degrees on both rides.
