High oil pressure
#11
I am tempted to agree with you there, since it does warm up and drop to 50 or less. Bypassing cold is good; bypassing hot won't eliminate filtering because the oil mixes with itself and every few cycles, all goes thru the filter. That's the way I understand a bypass filter works.
I did go for an Amsoil filter this time, and not gonna run the HiFlo's any more - although a good filter, when I cut open the can on the last one to look at the tensioner pieces in the media, the can had several large RUST SPOTS inside - I'll assume the damp climate in Vietnam where they're made is the culprit. The chrome on them is pretty crappy anyway- I had a time polishing it up better.
I now notice that yes, the valve train IS quieter despite the syn -I thot it was the Mobil1, but it could be the extra pressure.
My only concerns I guess would be the piston spray orifices or seals blowing out. Pulling a trailer and the ol' lady today up to Va. so I guess this shakedown run will prove it out, one way or the other, and I'll report back here.
