Default Buell XB12 vs Sportster engine mounts

Hi Folks,

I found a damaged Buell XB 12 X Ulysses, the "offroad" Buell for a fair price and would like to use this bike as engine donor (the rest will be sold for parts) Nice upside-down fork terrific brakes etc, but it doesn't belong on a rigid Bobber...

My questions:

I know the engine isn't "just" an upgraded Sportster, it looks more like a BT now, but what about the engine mounts ? is that still like the first generation ? that is a rigid mount Sportster with Buell rubber mounts and when you take those rubbers out the engine fits in a regular rigid mounted frame, don't know if I'm clear here !

Thanks

Cool

All Buells are rubber mounts, including that XB. Bear in mind it is giving something like 90HP I wouldn't be so unkind as to put it in a solid mount frame, even if it fits. I have an XB12R and reckon the power and torque it gives would be great in a bagger!

Although that motor was developed from a Sporty, Buell claimed hardly any parts are the same on the XBs, as they have been developed into dedicated Buell motors. The fuel injector is down draft, so a custom tank will not fit, although it could make a great airbox cover!
