Default Andrews 26A Cam Upgrade

Have a couple of questions about doing a cam upgrade.

I have a '06 Road King with the new Cam Plate with hydraulic tensioners already installed. Now I plan on putting Andrews in TW26A cams.

All of my documentation refers to the original plate and tensioners.

Is there any other documentation around that explains the steps (and any special tools) to remove the old cams and put in new cams after the new plate has been installed?

Thanx in Advance.

Get the service manual for your bike.

If running the 26a cams and hydraulic tensioners, you must have installed the SE Hybrid kit?? If that is the case, the service manual will provide all the instruction you need. Upgrade the inner cam bearings to Torrington B-148s while you are in the cam chest. Google/search for the "freezer/oven" method to install outer cam bearings and assembly into the cam plate to avoid special tools to R/R outer bearings and the requirement for a press.

You will need the shim pack for the rear cam sprocket as well.

Thanx for the input. Yes, I've alredy installed the SE hybrid kit.

With the original tensioners call for a special tool to unload the cam chain tensioners. Is that still required for the hydraulic tensioners?

Hyd tensioners are bolt on, nothing to unload or pre load for removal/installation.
