Default 81 shovelhead rebuild

I`m in the process of rebuilding my 81 shovelhead and would like some input as to which stroker kit(manufacturer & size) is going to give me the best bang for the buck. In addition what is the max size kit to use and still remain streetable,IE..pump gas, long cruzin as well as stop light to stop light. I will be keeping my four speed. Thanks

This simple.
Use your existing cylinders.
S&S 4 3/4" crank, and pistons, and an Andrews B grind.
92".
You'll love it.

the stroke will be the deciding factor as far as engine life goes (along with your riding syle,of coarse),we like to stay with 4.625 as being the longest on any shovels exept for real hot rod motors.the 96" inch kit from S&S or ULTIMA is 4.625 x 3.625 and makes for a nice package, but the motor we do that has the best bang for the buck & longest engine life is a 97" using your crank & 3.812 cylinder kit (4.25 x 3.812)

No fear on the 4 3/4" stroke whatsoever.
We have those in service that we've built over 15 yeas ago, and 5" stroke engines out there with 35,000 on 'em.
Once someone rides a stroker, they usually wonder why they dodn't do it sooner.
