Rc components vs Rinehart slip ons?
I am looking into purchasing a 2014 Street Glide. I rode one today and hate the stock exhaust, not near enough sound/tone. I asked the sales person about Rinehart and he said their rep wasn't very good and he wouldn't suggest them. He said I should go with a 4" Rc component slip on. I am not familiar with the brand. Does anyone have any feedback on them or them vs Rinehart? They started up a Street Glide in the shop that had the Rc's on it and it did sound pretty good. I have Pythons on my Fatboy and want something comparable in sound if I get the Street Glide. Thanks for the help!

I have the 4" RC Components Eclipse/Wrench Slip Ons........No other mods. Runs great, sounds great. I ride a 2012 SG. Check Youtube, there is a HD dealership that does a pretty good dyno comparison. That helped me make my decision. Very deep sound, a little louder....I can hear my pipes while doing 90 MPH on the freeway, but I can still hear my stock radio.

I had the RC Component slip on with a totally stock bike and they were slightly louder than stock but with a deep throaty sound. I liked them pretty well. I recently put cams and a V&H Power Dual and kept the RCC on my RGU and the decibel level tripled. They still sound great but are MUCH louder.

I agree with you that the stock mufflers suck. I switched mine on a 2014 SGS to Vance and Hines megaphones. I'm going to take it out today and see if I like them. The RC's did sound very good on youtube. If you look through a stock muffler, you can barely see any light. There seems to be a baffle that is split cross ways near the back. I'm going to do some measuring. Maybe if it's just a baffle, I'll see if I can pop it out. That might be the whole problem. I was told that the catalyst is in the pipes.
Update: The Vance and Hines took about 25 miles to wear in and they sound very good. Took less than 30 minutes to change. The baffle in the stock pipes looks like a short pipe that has been closed in an X shape. It's in there pretty good. The other problem is that the interior of the muffler looks like fiberglass with no shield. I'm thinking that if I did manage to get the baffle out, the muffler wouldn't last long. I'm getting an occasional pop from the exhaust and wondering if I need to have the fuel air mix adjusted.
