Hey, so I bought header wrap (titanium) for my Sporty 883 iron. Someone told me that I have to get my bike tuned to do so? But, I can't imagine why? Is this guy trying to make money, or have a legit point?

 

The idea of header wrap is to keep the exhaust gases hot as they exit the pipes, the reason for this is that hotter gases flow quicker allowing your motor to run faster. This is only really beneficial with a straight through exhaust on a tunned engine.

 

Unless you're just putting it on because you think it looks cool......

 

Did the seller also peddle tuners...?? All you're doing with exhaust wrap is adding a tight heat shield to your exhaust pipes...no added tuning needed...you're good.

 

Yea , the guy is full of **** . I wrapped mine , no issues.
