Well the Flathead forum seems cold, so I will post an update on my bike. Put a lot of effort into her again this winter, she needs to be seen!!

Quick rundown on the most recent adventure:

1- Transmission was shifting like a 1947 and up, 1st in the rear. Pulled the tranny and changed the shifter cam to a 41-46 and now we are shifting correctly for 1946, 1st in the front then N, 2 and 3.
2- We had the infamous intake nipple leak, much effort, stress, and custom tools but we got the nipple and rivet replaced, no bubbles
3- Then to finish off the tranny fix, at Oley, PA last week we scored 41-46 fuel/oil tanks and a genuine HD rear fender, already bobbed. I am very happy to have all Milwaukee steel on my bike. Plus I did good with getting pieces with usable, though crusty paint.

New pics as taken last night after a good 15 mile ride:

Always more things to tweek to keep her running her best but I am happy to have a runner again, she was on the lift since January. The season has started, lets ride.

Well after a couple of weeks of shakedown runs, the kicker gear is shot, again. I ordered a new one plus tripper bolts and springs from a guy in Australia, all NOS. Will be doing a one day tear down/rebuild when the parts arrive. Sucks, but the aftermarket kicker gears are junk. Sigh.

Did get her started last night and bombed around the neighborhood tuning the carb, my neighbors LOVE the straight pipe!!

Congrats on getting the '46 on the road, albeit with a slight setback for the kicker gear! Will you be at the Southern Nat. Meet in NC in a couple of weeks?

Nope, staying local, Show in Brooklyn on 5/22, then we will be racing on the sand in Wildwood NJ on 6/4 and 6/5 followed by a relaxing week in Laconia. Gotta get the tranny done before Wildwood, pressure!!!

Took her for a ride on Saturday, mostly good but had some charging issues. Johnjzjz enlightened me on how to check for a short with your regulator, and I think we are all good again. Started up and ran nice last night, but rain so no ride. Hoping for another shakedown run today. Then Sunday off to the city for the Brooklyn Bowl MC show, she has been invited to be inside as part of the show. Very cool. Not the best picture but as recent as they get.
