I asked this question before and OP you are right. Not only age but if Original user deletes or doesn't use the drop box or whatever they loaded it on you won't see it by one simple click.
I found that if you right click and open image in a new link you can see the picture. This works as long as you can see an image in the thumbnail image.

Looks like Silveradoman figured it out also! Lol.
I discovered by accident I can hit the forward icon in the upper right hand corner of black screen and it allows you the option to download the pic. Works for me everytime.
