Is there a way to ignore certain forums when doing a "New Posts" search?

The search feature is a great tool here, but sometimes it turns up a lot to sift through. Searching threads

Click on "Forums", on the menu bar just under the top left HDForums logo, pick the forum you want (like "sportsters"), and when it comes up, click on the "search this forum" at the top right of the list. If you're reading a post and want to search for more in it, the "search this thread" is at the top right of the posts.

Can take a while to learn navigation here, but it's the best laid out forum I've looked at, has a lot of good features.

Thanks Imold but I was looking to EXCLUDE certain forums when I click "New Posts" as there are many forums here that I have no interest in seeing...

Here's what I did. I saved a bookmark in my browser that uses this link to the HDForum's New Posts: www.hdforums.com/forum/search.php?do=getnew&exclude=28,29,30,31

The part in red is the important part of this link. The numbers represent the forum numbers that you want to ignore. You can find these numbers by hovering over a clickable forum name and looking at your status bar in your browser. It should look something like this: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/vendo...lassifieds-28/ and the 28 at the end of it is that forum's number. You can put more than one by seperating the numbers with a comma and no spaces like I did in the above example. In that example I'm choosing not to see new posts for forum #s 28, 29, 30 and 31.

Hope this helps.

The answer to your question is no. If you click "New Posts" you get them all.
If you want to pick and choose, you have to go to Forums and pick what you want to read.

Right. If you CLICK New Posts you will get them all but if you create a bookmark as I said above you can exclude all you want by using their numbers.
