Default Composite rotors

What do the guys think that are running the Lyndall composite rotors? Are they better than stock? What are the advantages of floating rotors compared to what H-D puts on the touring line?

They suck, Their customer service sucks, the owner sucks. But read this first and derive your own opinion.

I have been using LRB since 2008 on my Night Train and have had zero issues. I have the older button style Full floating disk. I bought them because of the light weight, looks and the fact that I will never have to buy another set as long as I don't let the pads wear to thin. The Composite pads transfer material to the disk so there is no wear. mine look new and have over 20000 miles on them.

I rely heavily on engine breaking though which I'm sure helps with pad wear.

I gave up trying to buy from Lyndall. I had read good things about their brakes, but they didn't answer emails in any helpful way and a well known dealer couldn't supply parts. Lyndall only had front rotors, no rears or brake pads available from stock and couldn't say when they would have fresh stock.

As they can't be trusted I bought EBC, everything I needed available from stock.

That is a different topic and I have used floating rotors for a great many years. They isolate heat from soaking back into the hub and allow the friction part to expand freely. My experience is they give better braking performance than stock one-piece rotors. Instead of Lyndall I bought EBC.
