Question Expert help needed caliper Identification

I have a '95 HD Nostalgia,I ordered the proper front brake rebuild from HD Shop and the piston is larger than mine ,my question is the '96 piston smaller ? I looked inside my caliper and there is a 96 stamped on it ,could this mean it is a '96 front brake caliper on my bike from the factory? Or possibly installed by thr 1st owner ? I know that there was a brake /clutch lever design change on the '96's along with many others but my levers and master cylinder are '95 design.
Any help or positive suggestions would be appreciated, and yes I am positive I have the proper year kit for my bike but I guess it is possible the factory could have supplied the wrong piston in the kit but my local shop doesn't have another kit in stock '96 either.

Thank you in advance for any help !
