Default custom build...buell front master cylinder

building a custom bobber, I wasn't going to put front brakes on, but having second thoughts....really not looking to spend 200 on a new one....so my question is...
do I need a Harley specific front master cylinder? its only going to operate a ultima front caliper on a springer front end...can I use a buell front master cylinder? and in general can I use any front master cylinder? I also like the ones that have a separate plastic rezzies like the import old school bikes...
if there is specific thread pitches what are they? I understand the difference between the 9/16 and 5/8 bore.....

Proper bore size to operate the caliper is the most important issue. The wrong size will result in a soft lever feel or throw you over the bars. You can use any style or brand to operate that caliper just make sure the size is correct for the style of caliper you are using. You can get the proper banjo bolt, fittings and brake line separate to make it work through Drag, Barnett, Russell etc.
