Default Rocker seat, pins on underside

I have a 2009 FXCW Rocker, one of the pins (item #2 in the picture) on the underside of the stock seat is pressed in further than it should be, so it does not stick out as far as the other one and therefore does not fully press into the rubber grommet that holds it on the frame.
I have tried pulling it out but I can not get it come out, tried turning it while pulling, in case it is threaded, but no success. if I press down on it it goes down and then seems to "spring" back up, but all the while it just is loose.
What I am wondering is...how is this attached to the seat base? is it press fit? is it threaded? could mine be stripped? any suggestions on how to get this sucker to stick further out??
